5 Digital Marketing Activities You Can Do Yourself Right Now To Drive More Traffic To Your Hardwood Flooring Business Part 2

In the last post, we discussed how to build a proper GMB profile so that your business can have a solid local presence on Google. In this piece, we discuss what are called citations, which are online mentions of your business with your NAP, in profiles that you can set up yourself.

Creating Citations and Business Directories

Along with the optimized GMB page, there are a ton of other profiles that can help fortify your local online brand, giving you a better chance of showing up high in Google’s maps.

Another goal here is that anytime someone searches for your company, you take up as many possible spots on page one and two, and get into the maps when someone does a local search. If someone is searching for your name, that means they are interested in you, and should see as much of you, and not the guy down the street, as possible.

Types of Industry and Niche Directory Profiles to Create

First, do a google search for “get quote hardwood floor or any other service you provide + your location and see which sites come up that have listings of various providers and make your own profile.

Here are some of the ones that will likely come up, and if for some reason they don’t, make a profile there anyway.

  1. Houzz
  2. Home advisor
  3. Thumbtack
  4. Angieslist
  5. Adopt a contractor
  6. Home stars
  7. Yelp
  8. Bing/Apple maps

The following links provide a more comprehensive list of the sites that you can use to build citations:

Other than these national sites, there might also be local websites to create profiles as well. Best way to find these is to search for “city name” + “business directory” OR “city name” + “Add Business”.

Remember, as mentioned in the first installment of the series, keep your Name, Address & Phone number consistent so it doesn’t confuse Google.
